XXI. ALLOCUTIO PILATI AD CHRISTUM IN PRAETORIO.


Verse: 1     Giang Pilatus wídari   \   mit ímo tho in then sólari,

Verse: 4     "gidua mih", quád, "nu sar io wís,   \   óba thu iro kúning sis?
Verse: 5     Bistú zi thiu giwíhit   \   sọ thíh ther líut zihit,
Verse: 6     in themo wíllen gíangis,   \   thaz ríchi so bifíangis?"
Verse: 7     Tho quad drúhtin: "ságe mir,   \   sprichis súlih thu fon thír,
Verse: 8     odo ándere iz thir ságetun   \   joh thir fon mír iz zelitun?"
Verse: 9     Pilátus wolta sliumo sár   \   fon imo néman tho then wán,
Verse: 10     tház er thes ni wánti,   \   er iz fon ímo irthahti.
Verse: 11     "Thie liuti wízun", quad, "fon ín,   \   thaz ih Júdeo ni bín;
Verse: 12     thínes selbes lántthiot   \   gab thih mír in thesan nót.
Verse: 13     Ther líut ther thih mír irgab,   \   zálta in thih then rúagstab;
Verse: 14     thie selbun záltun alle mír   \   thesa béldi fona thír.
Verse: 15     Ob ávur thaz so wár ist,   \   thaz thu iro kúning nu ni bíst:
Verse: 16     bi híu ist thaz sie thih námun,   \   sus háftan mir irgábun?"
Verse: 17     "Thir zéllu ih", quad er, "thánana:   \   ríhi min nist hínana;
Verse: 18     iz níst, soso ih thir ráchon,   \   fon thesen wóroltsachon.
Verse: 19     Ób iz wari hínana,   \   giflízin mine thégana
Verse: 20     mit iro kúanheiti,   \   min fíant sus ni wíalti,
Verse: 21     Joh in thérera nóti   \   mih sus ni hántoloti;
Verse: 22     mit théganheiti sítotin,   \   thaz sie mih in irrétitin.
Verse: 23     Ih duan es ávur redina:   \   níst min richi hínana,
Verse: 24     thaz íh mih nu biwérie   \   mit mínes selbes hérie."

Verse: 31     Theih úrkundi sáre   \   gizálti fona wáre,
Verse: 32     thaz ih ouh wárlichu thíng   \   gibréitti in thesan wóroltring!
Verse: 33     So wér so ist fona wáre,   \   ther hórit mir io sáre;
Verse: 34     hórit er mit mínnu   \   mínes selbes stímnu."
Verse: 35     "Sage thú mir", quad er sár,   \   "waz thu nénnes thaz wár;
Verse: 36     gidúa mih thes giwíssi   \   waz si thaz wárnissi!"
